I won't forget the terrible weather we had to put up with while we were driving on the narrow road of the south of Belgium late May last year. We were sort of familiar with the area, having been around here before but the bad weather made our trip last a lot longer than anticipated. Tired and hungry, the light and shape of a large building caught our attention, the car park was nearly full and across the street was a large glass room full of light and of people. That was enough for us to get tempted, we briefly looked at the place from the outside, hurried inside to avoid the rain and found a charming auberge with beautiful antics in the entrance and an extremely lovely veranda restaurant. we had an enjoyable meal, the staff was really making great effort to speak english and we were enjoying the whole experience. My wife ate SNAILS... still can't believe it and a great steak and the desert was memorable. We are still in touch with the owners but they still refuse to give us their secret recipe for the "Fraise au Poivre, hutte lurette". I can only tell you that there was some brandy and anise and pepper but you could not really taste it, it was really a surprise...
